UK government still hasn’t produced a lorry drivers’ guide
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued a revised rule, effective October 5, about the country of origin of textile and apparel products. CBP have eliminated the requirement to submit a textile declaration for textile and apparel importers. Importers must now identify the product manufacturer through a manufacturer identification code (MID), which is to be declared at the time of entry from the name and address of the entity performing the origin-conferring operations. CBP says the change is designed to prevent misreporting of the country of origin, especially in the case of products from China.
