US retail sales through physical stores in the twelve months to September showed their fastest growth (4.1%) since 2011, the US Department of Commerce announced on October 15.
The value of extra sales in the period ($145 mn) was over twice the value of the sales increase ($62 mn) in outlets other than stores: mostly online websites. Physical stores now have 87% of US non-automotive retail sales.
